Shaheer Sheikh On Turning A Year Older; Says He Often Forgets His Birthday And Would Want Everyone To Forget It
Television heartthrob Shaheer Sheikh turned 37 today and while we thought he would have big birthday plans, the actor has chosen an opposite way of spending his special day. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, he shared he doesn’t believe in celebrating his birthday and this has been a thing when he was young. He further says the same has been continued even now. Surprisingly he also said that there were times he had forgotten his birthday also. Not just him even his sister tends to forget birthdays, with the actor calling it a tradition.

He said, “There have been times when I’ve forgotten my birthday. If I had my way, I would want everyone to forget it. As I come from a humble background, as a kid, I never celebrated my birthday. In the routine of life and trying to make ends meet, my parents would forget our birthdays. In fact, now it is a tradition that my sisters and I, we all, forget each other birthdays.” He also spoke about his dislike towards cutting cakes, also as his close friends know this thing, they too don’t get in planning surprise cake cutting things now.

Though he feels it's very sweet of his fans to make him feel special on his birthday, the Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi actor prefers to keep it low. “Yes, my fans do show their love with messages and gifts, which is really sweet. They do make me special. I try to stay low-key and don’t like to be the centre of attention. It’s weird, I know,” adds Shaheer.

The Navya..Naye Dhadkan Naye Sawaal actor further shares people have told him that he is in the wrong profession, as actors are supposed to be in limelight. The actor continues, “People tell me that I chose the wrong profession as being an actor also means being in the limelight. I agree but I became an actor for the art, to be able to live another life via a character that I essay and I feel I have lived so many lives through all the roles I have played.” ALSO READ: Shaheer Sheikh Heads For An Audition ‘First Time, In A Long Time’; Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke Producer Rajan Shahi Says ‘Waiting To Work With You Again’
